Nike Patents Marty McFly Shoelace Tech

Oh ya, thats right, you read the title correct. Remember those sneakers from back to the future? Ok, well Nike did a throwback a little while ago with the color way and some Hyperdunks. Now that a little time has passed, it’s time for the real deal. They’re actually going to make the McFly’s! So far they’ve already patented the lacing mechanism that I guess is used in the moving or something and are going to move forward with the full blown sneaker!

Grynch x Sabzi “My Volvo (Bolbo Riddim remix)

Check this out! First time I saw Grynch live, this was the song that got me hyped on to his stuff. This track was so live at his latest EP release party, they had to rock it twice. So it was ill to hear what Sabzi laced this remix with. That lead synth that emulates the hook melody just catches you when it drops. Get on it and check out this Seattle hip-hop baby here! Macklemore: Spotlight Award

Its pretty cool to see some of Seattle’s great talent get the acclimation it deserves. Macklemore, being one of my favorite artists, recently was awarded the Spotlight Award from Seattle Magazine. They wrote an article about him that you can find here. The article doesn’t really go into what criteria they used to pick the winner, but it does go in to speak a bit about Macklemore’s past that isn’t always talked about. I highly encourage you to go check it out, it shines light on his humble beginnings, and some struggles that he’s overcome along the way. Also he’s ridiculous to see in concert. Check out this show he recently did up at WSU for Cougfest.

KEXP Documentary: Hip Hop: The New Seattle Sound

If you’re not up on your KEXP game, they recently finished releasing several interviews by some of Seattle’s biggest names in the hip hop game. They interviewed 10 different groups and had some pretty interesting conversations that really gives you a window into who these artists really are and how they view this very unique Seattle sound. Some also go in to describe a little bit more about themselves and what they went through as an emerging artist. There were some really powerful words of wisdom in these recordings, so I strongly encourage you to go check them out over at KEXP’s website HERE!
